Eating Vegan In Vegas

The World Got A Little Smaller at Slice of Vegas Pizza

Different continents…different time schedules…a slightly different way of speaking (I must admit my love for British accents)…but some very important things in common such as a love for animals, people, optimal health, and the healing of our planet…this was very apparent when I met with Sally-Anne Ryan and her son Gabriel (“G”) for lunch at Slice of Vegas Pizza in Mandalay Place.  Sally is a vegan nutritionist and blogger with site Plant Happy, from the U.K. and she and her husband and “G” were in Las Vegas for the week and determined to try as many vegan food options as possible.

"G" had pre-approved the wonderful vegan menu at Slice of Vegas Pizza. He is a bright, witty, and committed young vegan who was as excited about the food as we were.  Sally-Anne and "G" shared the vegan BBQ Chick’n pizza and it was such a delight to see the smiles on his face in-between bites.  I don’t think his smile could have gotten any bigger when he dug into the vegan Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting for dessert.  This cake is epic and a great way to end any meal.  It was so wonderful getting to know the both of them and hear about the work they are doing to spread the word about veganism to the U.K. and the rest of the world.

I enjoyed a Vegan Panini for the first time and it was nothing short of remarkable.  Fresh Ciabatta roll filled with grilled veggies and their amazing pesto sauce.  No doubt “G” probably noticed me smiling between bites as well.  It was paired with a wonderful salad that served as a perfect compliment to the sandwich.  You probably know already how much I enjoy Slice of Vegas Pizza.  The food on the vegan menu is terrific but I love all of the people that I have met there and I look forward to seeing each time that I eat there.  I can tell you this much already that the next time that I am in I will be trying their Vegan Meatball Pizza.  If it is anything like the other two vegan pizza choices, there will be a whole lot of smiling going on when I do…Thanks again to Slice of Vegas Pizza, Sally-Anne Ryan, and “G” for a wonderful meal and for helping to make this world just a little bit smaller.
