American-Kenyan Fusion at Wine 5 Cafe

I don’t suppose there is another American-Kenyan food fusion restaurant in Las Vegas, but I am glad there is Wine 5 Cafe. It has a very creative menu, and while not very vegan-friendly, it has some things that can be modified and has also given me some ideas for some things to experiment with at home.
I will probably come back for some of the modified items, but I asked my server if Chef Eli could whip up something for a kind-hearted vegan on a beautiful day. She said that he will do something called Veggie Delight, using veggies that they have on hand, sauteed and spiced Kenyan-style, served with a mound of brown rice. It sounded wonderful.
I was not disappointed. Out came a small platter filled with spears of zucchini, carrots, asparagus, green beans, potatoes, and beets mixed with black beans and corn surrounding the brown rice. The veggies were spiced deliciously and it was such a fun plate to consume. Each bite was a delight. The Veggie Delight is not on the menu, yet, but is always available if you ask…and I strongly suggest that you do.
