Finding My Spice at Mt. Everest

I did say that I found my spice at Mt. Everest…not on Mt. Everest. I admire those that would want to make that trek, but alas,  I don’t do well with the cold and that I why I live in the desert…smiles. But I did have a craving for something spicy and good last night and it led me to meet that craving at just a little over 2000 ft. above sea level, Mt. Everest India’s Cuisine on Sahara Ave. here in Las Vegas.

I love Indian cuisine, and it is good to have one of my favorite ethnic restaurants in every area of town. You just never know when the desire for something spicy will hit.  Let them know you are vegan and they will take great care of you at Mt. Everest and guide you to where you want to go. They have a good vegetarian section on the menu with some vegan options.  I decided to go for one of my favorites, Chana Masala, whole chick-peas cooked with onions, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, herbs, and spices.  They spice it from 1 to 10 and I went with my usual 8, but I want you to know that it just about took me to my limit.  It was delicious, but hot and spicy on a cool fall night.

They serve it with plain Basmati rice and vegan naan bread and it is a great combination.  Simple, but spicy and fabulous.  Kind of how we should be. Mt. Everest is another place that you can count on for great Indian food and service.  Dial up the spice and they will keep your water glass full. Wonderful food that you don’t have to climb a mountain to find…my kind of place.
