A New Vegan Burger at Whole Foods

I do enjoy going into Whole Foods and just exploring.  There always seems to be new products being added in every part of the store.  Yes, I do wish they did not have a meat counter or such a large dairy section.  I honestly do avoid those areas.  But other than that, they have a great selection of fresh, frozen, bulk, packaged, and a large prepared foods section where you can great your own plant-based meal any time of the day. There have been changes in this area as well.

I went by the sandwich counter/grill and noticed that they had some new vegetarian/vegan sandwiches available.  They make it very easy for you clearly listing the ingredients in the sandwiches, the things that you can add on, and even which breads that they have which are vegan.  Only three varieties of their breads are vegan.  I noticed on the grill section of the counter that they had newer item called Robert’s Vegan Burger, which was made out of black beans, sweet potatoes, and quinoa. I decided to give it a try.

I ordered it on a wheat square with mustard, lettuce, tomato and avocado. It was definitely a handful.  The burger itself was formed well together and did not fall apart.  It was not very moist but was still flavorful and worked well as a vegan burger option.  I prefer this option over some of the heavily processed veggie/vegan burger options that are out there.  I have noticed that Whole Foods has been doing some work on their website as well as around the stores.  I am liking what I am seeing and I cannot wait for the Beyond Meat products to make their way to the Southern Nevada Whole Foods stores.  Until then I will keep exploring and eating.
