Some Plant-Based Fun at Wahoo’s…

I have not been to a Wahoo’s since I moved from California.  I was glad to see a couple of Wahoo’s come into the Las Vegas market.  I always enjoyed the fun atmosphere of Wahoo’s with it’s surf/skateboard vibe.  One of the few places you will find that encourages you to bring a surf or skateboard sticker and put it up on a wall or booth.  Leave your mark.  Action sports videos playing and always good music.  A very fun environment.  Oh yes…the food…reasonably priced and lots of it with that Baja beach energy to it.

I was also glad to see that they have added some great plant-based options to the menu.  I ordered a little soft taco on the side with a vegetarian filling of black beans, rice, and veggies.  Very nice.  But the star of the show for me was the Wafu Bowl…which was really served on a big plate.  Sauteed Polynesian Tofu and Banzai Veggies…which are bell peppers, onions, zucchini, broccoli, mushrooms, and cabbage sauteed with a homemade teriyaki.  It is served with your choice of beans and rice…I went with the black beans and brown rice.  This was a terrific plate of food that filled me up and gave me great energy for the rest of the day. Fresh and delicious.

I love the menu because it has so many variables to it and you can use the veg fillings along with the tofu if you like for any taco, bowl, burrito, salad, or sandwich.  Wahoo’s are very family-friendly and a great place to go for a casual lunch or dinner.  Priced right as well.  Wahoo’s brings just a bit of Cali to town for me…the only thing lacking is the beach.  You can be assured I will be back to Wahoo’s…again and again.
