Enjoying A World Favorite…

The Massaman Curry dish has been deemed as one of the most popular dishes to eat in the world.  This is dish that dates back in origin to the 16th century in Thailand.  I have had this dish in a number of Thai restaurants and it is certainly one of my favorites.  This was my first time, though, enjoying the Vegan Massaman Curry at Le Thai in Downtown Las Vegas.

Yes…I love the Downtown area.  And I love the little stretch of area known as the Fremont East district.  It is cool now…but it is going to be even cooler as the vision of the Downtown Project becomes a reality in the very near future.  I love Thai food, and I was so excited when Le Thai opened with the help of the Downtown Project.  It is just a little less than a block from The Fremont Street Experience and all the craziness that can be found there, near the Beauty Bar, and is across the street from the Beat Coffeehouse and the Emergency Arts Building, cornerstones of the Fremont East district.

Almost anything on the Le Thai menu can be vegan except for the regular curries and pad thai.  That still leaves you with many wonderful choices.  I have had a few of the other dishes and they have all been delightful.  The Vegan Massaman Curry was a delicious bowl sauce, potatoes, carrots, and tofu.  It was spiced up perfectly for me at 4 out of 5.  Easily one of the best bowls of Massaman Curry that I have had.

Le Thai is going to be right in the middle of all of the transformation that we are going to be seeing in the Downtown area in months and years to come. Besides the great food you can also come in late at night on Fridays and Saturdays and enjoy various DJ’s spinning some great music and you will always be sure to meet some really cool people who enjoy terrific food and a good time.  Le Thai is my choice for Thai food in the Downtown area.
