Yes indeed….another reason to go Downtown. Things are happening in Downtown Las Vegas and I love it. My adventures took me down to the newly-renovated Plaza Hotel to seek out the new Pop-Up Pizza. If you have not been down to the Plaza you need to check out what they have done. Such a wonderful improvement. The rooms are beautiful and offer one of the most ridiculous hotel value options in town. Can you say staycation? I have written about the veggie sushi at Island Sushi there at the Plaza and I was eager to try some vegan pizza by the slice at Pop-Up.
It is small and no frills with about 6 pizza pies on display for you to choose from and then they pop it into the oven. The vegan pizza looked wonderful and tasted even better. It had a great crust and sauce with Daiya shreds, spinach, artichoke hearts, red peppers, and mushrooms. Sometimes you don’t want a whole pizza if you are by yourself and this is a great way to do it just by offering a slice or two. I could be wrong, but I think this is the only place in town that you can get vegan pizza by the slice. It looks so good it is naturally going to attract some non-plant eaters and they will love it. We can see a change of heart one slice at a time.
So make your way down to the Plaza and maybe stay a little while. The Plaza is at the gateway to the Fremont Street Experience and all of the craziness that resides there. Walk on down to the Beat Coffee House and all that is housed around it. Lots of bars, live music, and nightlife. Lunch or dinner at LeThai? Go on a Friday and walk to the 3rd St. Downtown Farmers Market and enjoy all of the wonderful that they offer there each week. Check out the Mob Museum. Know that before or after it all, a delicious slice of vegan pizza awaits at Pop-Up Pizza. Oh, and get a room…you know you want to.
