Munching At Makino
It is always interesting to go to a restaurant that you have passed by so many times but have not actually gone to.  For the most part, I like to plan my little eating adventures, but sometimes it is also kind of exciting to just be spontaneous about it all.  Like when a friend wants to take you to eat and that is where they want to go.  And because I have not had a chance to look at the menu or...

Spaghetti Paolo Gramo
Don’t laugh. Really..I have feelings.  It’s not really that funny of a name for a recipe. Okay, maybe it is. When I created this years ago, and have since adapted it, I had to call it something and I decided to name it after my alter-ego, Paolo. You know you have one too.  It is the even more charming, passionate, and romantic side of who you are.  Anyway…this a great summer...

La Cave Man...
A continuation of an open letter to Mr. Steve Wynn:  Dear Mr. Wynn, it has been a couple of weeks and I have sincerely missed visiting the Wynn and Encore. I have expressed to you my difficulty in staying away.  It was such a pleasure to come back. So many restaurants, so many vegan food options, so little time, and so little stomach capacity.  I knew that I was going to come back and try one of...

Bowling at Chipotle
You are at work and you are hungry.  You are wishing you had brought some leftovers for lunch from your spectacular meal that you had prepared at home last night. But you didn’t.  And to top it off…you have a limited amount of time.  To go somewhere and get something to eat and get back in time to meet your next client…well, minus travel time you are looking at about 22 minutes...

Lunching With Some Fine Bahama Chix
I have few guidelines in terms of my year-long blog project of 365 vegan meals in 365 days in Las Vegas.  One is that there will be a blog entry each morning.  It will be positive.  I am a food encourager…not a food critic.  It will be a celebration of what we can and should eat…not what we choose not to eat. I will offer at least one meal cooked at home and a recipe each week. I...

Playing in the Yard Again
How do I decide where to go each day to eat? Well sometimes it is just a feeling and I go with that.  Other times it might be dictated by where I am at and how much time that I have. I had a short window for lunch and I wanted to make the most of it.  One possibility had been lingering for the past few weeks for a situation just like this.  Something close by but something that would be quick but...

2nd Serve from Ping Pong
Thai food two days in a row?  I know it seems excessive.  Unless you are the one eating it…and then you would know that this is extremely logical behavior.  When I mentioned in yesterday’s blog about my other favorite Thai restaurant not on E. Sahara…I received a few questions about just exactly what I was referring to.  Ping Pong.  No, not Forrest Gump’s favorite game....

Eating Kind at Komol
What is the likelihood that two of the best Thai restaurants in Las Vegas not on E. Sunset would both be located about a football field’s length from one another in the same shopping center on E. Sahara?  Not likely…but this in fact is just how it is.  As I am getting out of my car I look to the left and see the well-known Lotus of Siam, winners of numerous awards.  Today, though, was...

Kabuki Onstage for Great Eats
Kabuki is classical Japanese dance/drama and can sometimes be somewhat out of the ordinary.  Kabuki Restaurant in Town Square is the first foray into Nevada of this predominantly Southern California restaurant group.  While holding onto some tradition it also offers its own style a little out of the ordinary in a beautiful but casual atmosphere. The main reason for going to Kabuki of course is the...
